The university Tower will shine with a burnt orange glow Thursday, Sept. 17, in honor of the Presidential Inauguration of Gregory L. Fenves. To recognize his role as the 29th president of The University of Texas at Austin, the Tower’s windows will be lit to display “29.”

Fenves began serving as president on June 3. He previously served as UT Austin’s provost and executive vice president since 2013. Fenves is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the highest national honor awarded to engineers in the United States. Prior to being named provost, Fenves served for five years as dean of UT Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering.
