The U.T. Tower shines with burnt orange lights at night.

The UT Tower will shine with burnt orange lights Monday, April 22 to commemorate Texas Men’s Tennis‘ 2024 Big 12 Conference regular season and tournament championships. Per tradition, the University recognizes UT sports programs who win a conference team championship with a Burnt Orange lighting of the campus landmark.

Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street at 8:20 p.m. CT to watch the teams take photo.

The No. 5 Longhorns (22-3) captured the Big 12 regular-season title with a perfect 7-0 mark in league play. The Longhorns have now won at least a share of that title in four of the last five year (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024) and claimed it outright in three of those (2019, 2023, 2024), discounting 2020 when the conference schedule was not played due to the pandemic.

In winning the Big 12 Championship tournament title on Sunday, it marked the Longhorns’ first since 2018, and the sixth in program history. Meanwhile, it was also the fifth time the program has won both the tournament and regular season championships in the same season with the last time coming in 2010.

After receiving the Big 12’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big 12 Championship, Texas will await the NCAA selection show to determine their seeding and hosting. The show will air on NCAA.com on Monday, April 29, at 5 p.m. CT.
