The UT Tower will shine with burnt orange lights Wednesday, April 24 in honor of the Texas Men’s Golf team winning the Big 12 championship.

The No. 17 Texas Men’s Golf team fired a final-round team score of 12-under-par 276 on Wednesday to win the Big 12 Championship in dominant fashion at Whispering Pines Golf Club. This marked the ninth overall Big 12 Conference team title for the Longhorns and first since 2017.

Texas will await the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Selection Show on Wednesday, May 1. The show is set to air from 1-2 p.m. Central and will be televised nationally by Golf Channel. The University of Texas will serve as one of six regional host sites, as competition will be held at The University of Texas Golf Club on May 13-15.

As part of campus tradition, the Tower is bathed in burnt orange lighting from top-to-bottom when a University of Texas Athletics team wins a conference championship.
