The UT Tower will be lit in burnt orange Monday, May 22 in recognition of Texas Men’s Track & Field’s victories at the Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
The Longhorns swept the men’s conference championship meets this season with a 13-point win at the indoor championship in February and a 10.5 point victory last week at the outdoor meet. Their win outdoors marked the first time in Big 12 history a men’s team has won three consecutive Big 12 Outdoor Championship crowns.
Per UT tradition, the UT Tower is bathed in burnt orange lighting from top-to-bottom when a University of Texas athletics team wins a conference championship. The tower will go orange at approximately 8:45 p.m.
The team will gather for the traditional group photo at the Littlefield Fountain (21st Street & University Ave.) prior to the lighting. The public is welcome to attend and congratulate the team.
