The UT Tower will shine with burnt orange lights Tuesday, March 22 to commemorate the Texas Women’s Basketball 2022 Big 12 Conference Tournament Championship.

Per campus tradition, the University recognizes UT sports programs who win a conference team championship with a burnt orange lighting of the campus landmark.

The special lighting configuration will commemorate the team capturing the 2022 Big 12 Tournament Championship, the program’s first since 2003, and will take place as the team gathers in front of the Tower to take a group picture.

The Longhorns defeated Baylor 67-58 in the title game on March 13 to cap off their 3-0 run in Kansas City and punch their ticket to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Taking down Fairfield and Utah in the NCAA First & Second Rounds at the Erwin Center this past weekend to earn a spot in the Sweet Sixteen, No. 2-seeded Texas will head to Spokane, Wash., where it will take on No. 6 Ohio State on Friday, March 25. Tip is slated for 6 p.m. CT (4 p.m. PT) and will air on ESPN2.
