UT Women's tennis team poses for group photo after winning National Championship

The University of Texas Tower will be lit in burnt orange with a numeral “1” on all four sides tonight (September 26) to commemorate the Texas Women’s Tennis program’s 2022 National Championship.

Per campus tradition, the University recognizes UT sports programs with a burnt orange lighting of the campus landmark with the numeral “1” appearing on the building’s four sides when a Longhorns’ team claims an NCAA team title.

Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street at 7:30 p.m. CT to watch the team take group photos.

The Longhorns posted a 26-4 dual-match record during the 2022 season and captured their second-straight and fourth NCAA team title in program history with a 4-1 victory against Oklahoma in the championship match on May 22. Texas previously won NCAA Championships in 1993, 1995 and 2021. The Longhorns joined Stanford and Florida as the only schools to repeat as NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis national champions since 1982.
