The U.T. Tower shines with burnt orange lights

The UT Tower will shine with burnt orange lights Friday, November 3 in honor of the newest recipients of the Texas Exes Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award recognizes alumni who have made significant achievements in their careers and service to the University. The 2023 honorees include:

  • John C. Goff | BBA ’77, Life Member, McCombs School of Business; Founder, Goff Capital, Inc., Co-founder, Crescent Real Estate; Fort Worth, TX
  • Ed Hyman | BS ’67, Life Member, Cockrell School of Engineering; Chairman, Evercore ISI; Vice Chairman, Evercore; New York, NY
  • Jeannie M. Leavitt | BS ’90, Life Member, Cockrell School of Engineering; Major General, United States Air Force (Ret.); New Braunfels, TX
  • Ross R. Moody | BBA ’84, Life Member, McCombs School of Business; Chairman & CEO, National Western Life Group, Inc.; Austin, TX
  • Ricky Williams | BS ’16, Life Member, College of Education; Retired NFL Running Back, Entrepreneur; Grass Valley, CA

For 140 years, The University of Texas has produced pioneers and leaders across fields and disciplines—scientists, writers, artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, physicians, lawyers, and beyond. The Texas Exes created the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1958 to honor alumni who have distinguished themselves in their profession, community, and through service to the University.
