On the evening of Friday, September 11, the UT Tower will shine burnt orange to honor the landmark gift from accounting alumnus Jonathan Shulkin, BBA ’97, to name the Shulkin Department of Accounting in the McCombs School of Business.

Shulkin, co-president and partner of Valor Equity Partners, credits his accounting education at UT with providing the foundation for his career. His gift will support the department’s continued leadership in accounting education, research and innovation while helping prepare students for an evolving, technology-driven profession.

“Jon Shulkin’s extraordinary generosity reflects both where he came from and where he believes accounting can go,” said McCombs Dean Bradley R. Staats. “The education he received at McCombs gave him a foundation for a remarkable career, and now he is creating opportunities for generations of students and scholars.”
