UT Women's track and field team holding the Big 12 indoor championship trophy.

The UT Tower will be lit on Sunday evening, March 3, in recognition of The University of Texas Women’s Track & Field team to celebrate the Longhorns’ 2019 Big 12 Indoor Championship. The Longhorns will gather for the tower lighting celebration at 7 p.m. on Sunday night for a team photo in front of the burnt orange tower.

Texas earned the title over the host, Texas Tech, scoring 129 points last weekend en route to the victory. It was UT’s second straight conference title indoors, and their fifth in the last six seasons.

Per UT tradition, the campus landmark is bathed in burnt orange lighting from top to bottom when a University of Texas athletics team wins a conference championship.

The Longhorns head to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, next weekend, March 8-9. UT qualified 11 individuals and two relays for the championships.
