The University of Texas Tower will be lit in burnt orange Monday, March 28 to commemorate the Texas Women’s Swimming and Diving’s 2022 Big 12 Conference Championship.
Per campus tradition, the University recognizes UT sports programs who win a conference team championship with a burnt orange lighting of the campus landmark.
Tonight, the University will commemorate the team capturing the 2022 Big 12 Championship, the Longhorns’ 10th consecutive conference title and 21st Big 12 Conference crown in program history. The Longhorns swept all 21 events at the championship meet, setting seven meet and six conference records in the process.
Texas will also celebrate the program’s 2022 National Runner-up finish at this year’s NCAA Championships in Atlanta, where the Longhorns placed second in the national meet for the first time since 1994. It marked the fourth runner-up result and 11th top-two finish in program history.
